Chiran Peace Museum
Chiran is a town in which the army's special air attack base was located toward the end of the Pacific War.
At the Chiran Peace Museum, valuable records and materials, such as deceased soldiers' portraits and their belongings, are collected, preserved and displayed. -
Chiran Samurai Residence Complex
Nicknamed the "Little Kyoto of Satsuma", Chiran is home to more than 500 samurai residences during the late Edo period (19th century).
As the original buildings of the complex are well-preserved, one can get to witness a real, Edo Period Samurai settlement here.

Kamafuta Shrine
Kamafuta Shrine is a famous shrine popular for its unique worship during which visitors place a traditional rice pot lid atop their heads while praying.

Bandokorobana Nature Park
In the 19th C.E, Mr. Tadataka Inou visited this site to create a map of Japan and later referred to it as "a superb view of the world."
On clear days, visitors will be able to see both Yakushima Island and Mishima Island. -
Shimizu Magaibutsu (Buddhist images carved on rock wall)
Approximately 200 Buddhist images carved on rock wall (20 meters of height x 400 meters of width) along the Manose River.
It is a historically and Buddhistically valuable site and it's scale is unprecedented.
