位于甲突川源頭的鹿兒島市郡山町八重地區的陡峭斜坡上，總延伸面積12.4公頃，約有240塊石砌梯田。
從傳統的石砌梯田和從梯田眺望的櫻島景色，日本古老田園風光都只有在這裡才能看到的。
冬季期間（聖誕節至2月左右），可以欣賞火樹銀花燈飾。
