The Nansatsu region is full of local gourmet dishes that make the most of local products! In particular, as a dish using katsuobushi (bonito flakes), donburi (rice bowl), which won the No. 1 gourmet spot in shopping districts in the prefecture, is served in Makurazaki City. You can eat ramen made with karebushi in Ibusuki City. Minamisatsuma City is also famous for takaebi, which is characterized by its sweet and plump texture. How about enjoying sweets made with green tea in the tea-producing cities of Minamikyushu and Hioki?

Point 2 of this course
This area is known for its highly fragrant tea, the finest bonito flakes, and authentic potato shochu. The works of Satsuma ware kilns in the Miyama area are world-famous, and you can feel the depth of Satsuma's history and culture. Another attractive point is that you can cycle along the JR Ibusuki Makurazaki Line, which runs at the southernmost tip of Japan.

Cycling Terminal Rinrin
Cycling terminal Ring-Ring is a full-service rental cycle facility where you can easily enjoy cycling empty-handed. Fukiagehama Cycling Road and Kaseda Ring Ring Road are popular, and it is also convenient as a gateway to the route around the Satsuma Peninsula.

Miyama area (Satsuma ware village)
Miyama is famous as the home of Satsuma ware. Recently, not only potteries but also various workshops are lined up, and it is crowded as a town of manufacturing "Craftsman Village". In addition, Miyama Craft Week is held every year in early November, and you can enjoy the beautiful autumn of Miyama.

Shaved ice “Polar bear”
The texture of the homemade secret milk and ice is a summer tradition that draws long queue outside every summer. Kagoshima is said to have as many polar bears as there are coffee shops, but the combination of thin, fluffy ice made from planed shavings with condensed milk and honey is particularly popular.

Ibusuki Sand Bath Hot Spring
The Ibusuki Sand Bath Hot Spring, where you can bathe in the sand heated by the hot water that gushes out from the coastline, already existed in the Edo period, and there are still sand baths dotted around the city. The method of bathing is unique, and you should be enveloped in a comfortable feeling of fatigue that you have never experienced after bathing.

Bandokorobana Natural Park
Bandokorobana Natural Park, which was the guardhouse of the Satsuma clan, is a scenic spot that Tadataka Ino praised as "a superb view of the world." There is also a cycle port for the share cycle "Charlie", so you can freely enjoy sightseeing in the southern Kyushu city area by bicycle.

Hinokami Park/Campsite
Hinokami Park, where the myth of the Kojiki remains, is located on a cape protruding into the East China Sea. Boasting one of the best views of the Satsuma Peninsula, the Tategami Rock towering off the coast is mysterious. It is also a great spot for camping and picnics, and the surrounding area is also famous as a great surf fishing spot.
