Kamikoshiki island
The long, narrow landforms created by longshore currents and waves, in which sand from the seabed appears above the surface of the water, are called tonboro (land-locked sandbars). The village was built on this unique land connecting the islands, and it has become the center of Sato Town.

Shimokoshiki island
Shimokoshiki Island is an area full of wonder, with oddly-shaped rocks and cliffs, and dinosaur fossils being continuously discovered. As you explore the island, you will be impressed by spectacular scenery such as the view from Yohagi Maruyama Park, where you can also see seasonal flowers in bloom. There are many unique places to discover, including samurai residences, the 1.5km-long Teuchi Beach of beautiful white sand , and Sebi Kannon Mitaki Falls, which was once called Yakusui (medicine water).
