Amande Is said to have been the site of the first descent of the two gods Amimako and Shinereku, who created Amami Oshima. The sloping road leading to Amande is dotted with cherry trees. From near the second-highest point in the Kasari area, you can take in a splendid view of the nearby village and the endless Pacific Ocean.
