Toyotama-hime Shrine
（豊玉姫神社）
The home of the Satsuma Mizu-karakuri, a registered National Intangible Folk Cultural Property
Toyotama-hime-no-mikoto, the god enshrined at Toyotama-hime Shrine, was born safely with a pretty face like a pearl. Thus, visitors to this shrine are said to give birth safely to beautiful children.
At its Rokugatsudo summer lantern festival, the shrine holds Mizu-karakuri, a puppet play in which the puppets' movement is powered by a waterwheel.
