Only 15 minutes’ drive from Yakusugi Land is Kigensugi, the only Yakusugi Cedar that can be seen from a car. Situated at an elevation of about 1,200 meters (3,900ft), the unique tree is 19.5 meters (64ft) tall, 8.1 meters (26.5ft) around, and an estimated 3,000 years old. More than 10 kinds of other plants, such as the Japanese cypress, grow from the tree. Gazing at this ancient tree in its tranquil environment, largely untouched for hundreds of years, is guaranteed to be a moment to remember.
