Mount Uomi
(魚見岳)
Ibusuki is sometimes referred to as "the Hawaii of the Orient". One reason why is Mount Uomi, a 215 meter-high mountain with a rough rock face that lends the mountain a close resemblance to Diamond Head in Hawaii. Mount Uomi is a famous cherry blossom spot, with roughly 600 cherry trees that bloom in spring. You can drive to the top of the mountain, which also boasts a stunning night view.
◇Typical best viewing period: Late March - Early April
◇Number of cherry trees: ~600
