Cape Inutabu
(犬田布岬)
Located on the southwestern coast of Tokunoshima, Cape Inutabu is a triangular Ryukyu limestone cliff jutting out into the sea. Sea turtles swimming off the coast are a common sight and, from winter through spring, whales can also be seen.
The cape hosts a memorial monument for Battleship Yamato, which was sunk while heading south to Okinawa in WWII, and a related exhibit with numerous items on display.
There is also a facility with space to enjoy refreshments.
