The shrine said to be the origin of the name "Kagoshima"
Kagoshima Shrine is a historic shrine dedicated to a god connected to the current imperial family.
In addition to a beautiful ceiling painting, the shrine is famous nationwide for its Hatsuumasai, a festival in which horses with bells attached to them dance in a procession led by a sacred horse.
