Thanks to its cold winters and hot, humid summers, Isa has great conditions for growing blueberries. The area produces some of the plumpest, juiciest blueberries in Kagoshima Prefecture, making it the perfect place to enjoy some sampling.

There are six orchards at Isa Blueberry Tourist Farm, producing fruit that is packaged and processed by hand on site to be sold at the shop. Choose some blueberry preserves to take home or try some of the blueberry-based drinks including vinegar and tea. You are sure to experience the invigorating power of this super fruit. Why not enjoy your refreshments in the patio area that overlooks the orchards?

July to August is harvest season, when visitors are welcome to stroll the orchards and pick their own fruit to enjoy onsite or take home. Experience the best of what rural Japan has to offer with this unique chance to try fruit picking and sampling in beautiful countryside.

In April, blooms of blueberry flowers bring a burst of pink and white, while December brings autumn leaves in stunning hues of red, orange and yellow.
