Cut and draw Japanese designs
(【体験】切り絵制作体験)
Make paper cutting art with direct instruction from a professional paper cutting artist
Highlight Best 3
1. You can make original art with Japanese designs and characters
2. You can enjoy combining colors in addition to cutting paper
3. A casual experience that requires no preparation and lets you take home what you make
[ What to know for a better experience ]
If you don't make a long enough cut on an intersecting portion and you do it over, the cut edge will turn rough; your art will turn out better if you make your cuts a bit long (this will not noticeably affect the look of the final product)
The cut edges will be more stable if you move the cutter towards you and cut as you turn the paper (diagonal and horizontal cuts are difficult)
You can view works by the artist, Fumiaki Aoki, on Instagram at 'musou23'
[ Points of note ]
Paper cutting art requires detail; if you normally wear glasses, please bring them with you
Before coming, please communicate the 3-4 letters you want to cut (so the artist can make a draft for you to follow)
The artist will decide the design of your paper cutting art; requests not accepted
Cutting with too much force will put cuts in the mat underneath in which the paper will get stuck, which makes cutting more difficult; be aware of how much force you use
This experience involves art knives; no children age 11 or younger
The duration of the event is only for reference (the actual duration depends on the individual)
